October 28, 2016 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
This month’s Fiber Gathering comes with a great treat, it coincides with our Fall Sunday Afternoon on the Farm. We will meet up at our usual 2:00pm and spin until we decide to stop – as usual. Guest for the dinner will begin to arrive at 3:00pm and be treated to a view of the many fiber arts in the group. Many of our customers have never seen rug hooking or spinning and will be amazing that not only are these arts still alive and well but they are practiced right here in our area.
Last month we discussed the possibility of either inviting guests to teach specific skills or having members share skills that other would like to learn or perfect. Two of the ideas proposed were weaving and combing wool but we are open to any and all suggestions.
We will have the kettle on and feel free to bring some goodies to share if you’d like. We are always wonderfully surprised at the delicious treats we get to sample at the Gatherings! And, as always, please invite your friends and family interested in the fiber arts.
So if you would like to attend the farm tour it will start around 4 and of course our sheep will be a big part of the tour. After that, Brayden will be cooking up some Pulled Pork smothered in a smoked honey bbq sauce ( with contributions from the farm bees) and Deanna and I will serve up our delicious sourdough and regular Honey Whole Wheat buns. We’ll have a salad and sides from the garden and delicious fall desserts to end the meal. Bring your own wine or sip on Brayden’s home crafted spiced cider and sit under the stars around a beautiful bonfire into the night. Tickets are for the dinner are $30.00 for adults and $15 for the kiddos.
