After much consideration regarding this page and its intended viewer we decided that our wool page deserved the special attention that our customers give to their craft projects. We know that when you start a project, there’s not even the slightest consideration of heading to your local Walmart for scratchy, cheaply produced “yarn.” We understand that just as you put love and care into your handmade garments, you want to know that same level of care and commitment started from the first day after shearing.
We understand that we are part of a small group of crafters who long for the days when one or two fabulous sweaters were all that was needed for a lifetime of comfort, or that the single stunning shawl hanging on the back of the low hung door was sufficient for both a night out in town or to ease the chill while bringing the cows up for milking. If you crave the commitment to craft that urges us to mend rather than discard, you have found your way to a community of crafters dedicated not only to the remembrance of those days but to the belief that it is possible today.
So, here are our River Cottage Farm Offerings for your fiber addictions. For the absolute purist in the group we have fleece, straight off the sheep. With each fleece you will receive our detailed directions for washing and drying your new fleece as well as contact information for places to process. If the thought of preparing a fleece for spinning or even shipping off a fleece and waiting for it to be shipped back in the form of rover seems about as fun as watching paint dry, we have roving, both natural and dyed, and yarn available. We get it! Face it! We’re all addicted!
We have for your purchase and pleasure raw fleece, roving, and yarn. They are all available in different colors. Please contact us for more details.
